Betty Boult is currently an adjunct professor and educational consultant. She retired from the position of assistant superintendent of School District No. 43 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, in June 2000.
She has served as director of instruction (curriculum), supervisor of staff development, principal, assistant principal, teacher-librarian, and classroom teacher.
Her experience ranges from primary to adult education in both Canada and the United States.
Betty retired in November 2000 from the position of Assistant Superintendent of School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) in British Columbia, Canada. During her career she held a variety of positions that included assistant superintendent, director of instruction (curriculum), supervisor of staff development, and principal, assistant principal, teacher-librarian, and classroom teacher. Her background experience ranges from primary to adult education.
In addition to these full-time positions, she was a provincial community education consultant, a guest lecturer for the University of Lethbridge, and a sessional instructor for the University of Alberta.
Betty has done part-time consulting with an international consulting company. During the past twenty years, Dr. Boult has been contracted to do workshops and seminars at the district, provincial and international levels.
After retirement, Betty completed a two-year contract with Accreditation Services. Their mandate was to focus on school improvement through training and supporting schools across the province of British Columbia.
As well, Betty wrote and taught two leadership development modules (ethics and communication) for the online Dimensions of Practice course for the British Columbia Superintendent's Association. The focus of the course was staff development for future district leaders.
Currently, she is a doctoral advisor for students at Nova Southeastern University in educational and organizational leadership and teaches leadership courses in Trends and Issues and Ethical Leadership.
Betty serves as a lead auditor for the Ministry of Education and works with audit teams in the areas of Continuing Education, Regular Education and Distributed Learning.
As well, Dr. Boult is the British Columbia Agent for Sino Canada. The school offers Chinese graduation as well as BC Graduation to Chinese and International students. Sino Canada High School is fully certified by the British Columbia Ministry of Education. The school is located about an hour from Shanghai.
Dr. Boult has appeared on educational television, published articles, and in 1999 wrote the first edition of 176 Ways to Involve Parents for Skylight Publishing. The second edition of the book was published in 2006 and is currently a best seller for Corwin Press. Betty is passionate about the topic of parent and community involvement and spends time presenting at the district level in the area of "how to" practically and meaningfully involve all partners in education.
