Evaluation/Assessment and Report Cards

The students work on individual timetables.  Students move from class to class   as they do in North American Schools.

A continuous evaluation/assessment model is used at Sino Canada and students accumulate marks over the semester or full year.

Final exams are not worth more than 35% and the rest of the mark is a cumulative result of the years work. Teachers use a variety of administrative software for marking.

Marks on line or Harts Marks can be used - both are available at the school.

Report cards are issued 4 times a year - twice each semester.  The first and third report cards are sent home after Parent-Student Teacher interviews.

Student Attendance

Attendance is taken for each class and reported to the Secretary’s Office at the beginning of the period.

If a student is absent more than three times and there is not a reasonable explanation for
the absences, the teachers asks the secretary to refer the student to the Discipline Office
and parents are contacted.
